The Eastern Thredbo Village – Cedar Cabin

Wake Up to the best views of Thredbo

This 54sm loft cabin packs a serious design punch. Smart tech. Strong design. Recently shortlisted in the Australian interior design awards. The space is both raw and refined with vaulted ceilings, exposed timbers, and a japanese inspired onsen.

The cedar cabin is positioned on the banks of the Thredbo river and has an uninterrupted view of mount kosciuszko, all while being a two minute walk from the centre of Thredbo village.

We champion good design. The cabin is fit out with furniture and objects by hay, menu x norm architects, filson, and custom designed furniture.

We provide complementary aesop toiletries. Fresh coffee beans from coffee supreme with a gaggia espresso machine. Linens from inbed and beautiful details for you to explore.

We love smart tech and living lightly on the land. The energy efficient heating and cooling system is operated by nest. The television has Netflix, Stan, free to air digital channels along with internet browsing and there are usb ports at the bedside for phone charging.

The kitchen has a large island bench that doubles as the heart of the cabin. It’s a prime spot for a dinner party or to enjoy a bottle of red – yes, there is a wine fridge. Bespoke and streamlined joinery makes use of every inch of space. It’s completely fit out with appliances and designer furnishings.

The bathroom has underfloor heating and a Japanese inspired onsen, which fits two. A pretty epic spot to unwind after a day on the mountains.

The lounge area has a comfy four person window seat for relaxing, with an uninterrupted view of thredbo river. Art featuring mt kosciuszko by adventure photographer, zain kruyer and mid-century graphics by barbara stauffacher solomon.

The ceiling in the loft bedroom is clad in textural, rough-sawn timber. When lying bed, the a-frame ceiling slopes down in front of you. Almost like a tent – a luxurious, temperature controlled tent. The ladder staircase gives you access to the loft.

Design touches include nordic handheld carry lamps, Australian bush rimmed crockery along with objects by American outdoor companies, filson and rumpl. All adding to the considered glamping experience.

The cedar cabin is one of the closest accommodations to the Thredbo chapel, golf course, and summer sporting facilities on the town green. It’s a two minute walk to the heart of the village with valley terminal and Kosciuszko express chairlift.

Drift off to sleep with the sound of the Thredbo river rapids, it’s an idyllic place to switch off and connect with the outdoors.

The cabin is perfectly suited for singles, couples, or two hiking mates travelling together.

The full kitchen includes a compact vintec wine fridge, cooktop, microwave and full fridge with freezer.

In true alpine glamping style, the stairs up to the loft are a compact stair/ladder kind.

Not suitable for children or pets.
