Positioned on a rugged Canadian Shield lot with natural granite outcrops, the cottage is located on the point of one of the very few peninsulas on Kennisis Lake. The Birchwood on Kennisis Lake is nothing short of awesome. The cottage was originally built in 1975. The interior and exterior of the property was lovingly and thoroughly renovated in 2020 to provide you with a true Boutique Cottage to enjoy in its entirety!
Positioned on the pristine shores of Kennisis Lake on a Canadian Shield lot with lots of natural granite outcrops, the cottage is located at the point of one of the very few peninsulas on Kennisis Lake with a wrap around water front. The cottage is slightly elevated and perched proudly to take advantage of the expansive big lake views. If you are looking for privacy, tranquility & relaxation, look no further!
Boasting rich reclaimed ash wood flooring and beams throughout, our little sanctuary comfortably sleeps 6 across three beautifully decorated bedrooms – one king size bedroom with master ensuite, one queen size bedroom, and one smaller bedroom with two adult size twin bunks. All linens & towels are provided with compliments. The Birchwood on Kennisis Lake features an open plan living area with vaulted ceilings and windows at every turn – the interior is flooded with natural daylight to make for a light, easy & breezy stay.
The new gourmet kitchen comes fully equipped with all of the small & large appliances & utensils needed to create a delicious meal to share with family and friends. Basic spices, olive oil, tea & coffee are provided with compliments.
There are two full bathrooms – the main bathroom which is just off of the living area, and a luxurious master ensuite.
Our multi tiered expansive deck can be enjoyed in the sun or shade all day long with beautiful lounging & dining furniture, gas BBQ, and a hot tub with views that are second to none! Next to the hot tub is a beautiful fire pit area with seating for 6.
Kennisis Lake is part of a 2 lake chain and is almost 25km long for miles of exploring and crystal clear water for swimming, diving, relaxing – you name it! There is a 4 person Pedal Boat, two Kayaks and two Paddle Boards for you to use with compliments – 6 adult life jackets in varying sizes are provided, as well as two youth life jackets. There are approximately 40 steps to access the water front.
The cottage is just minutes from the 100,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed hiking and biking trails and world-famous Wolf Observatory. Nestled amongst towering Whispering Pine Trees, The Birchwood on Kennisis Lake is a pristine gem in the heart of Ontario’s vacation paradise.
